BIKE HIRE

Rent a mountain bike, a scooter or an ATV from your hotel and start exploring the island from Agia Marina and the Old Harbor to Kounoupitsa and Ligoneri. Take a tour of the island and stop for a swim in one of its beautiful beaches. The more daring can explore the heights; the highest point is the church at Profitis Ilias (258m).

🏛️ Art, History, and Architecture 

Laskarina Bouboulina 

Spetses is well-known to be the home of the Greek War of Independence heroine Laskarina Bouboulina. Get to know this historical figure as you tour her home and admire its collection of 18th and 19th century furniture, fine porcelain, old weapons, and rare books under the wood-carved Florentine ceiling. 

Mansion of Hatzigiannis Mexis 

Built around 1795 and donated to the Greek state in 1938, this house serves as a museum that exhibits relics from the War of Independence and the heroine Bouboulina, letters written by war heroes, and a folk art collection. Get lost in the rich past as you observe more than 4,000 years of the island’s history. 

Chapel of the Virgin Mary of the Armata 

Built between 1824 and 1830, this rural church houses the Virgin Mary of the Armata (Panagias tis Armatas), which legend says prevented an Ottoman invasion of the island in September 1822.  

🌊 Beaches 

Χilokeriza Beach 

Six kilometres round pleasant curves is lovely Xilokeriza. Down a dizzying descent on a cement road is the fine shingle beach, comprising a myriad of hues, and giving visitors of all ages a chance to enrich their stone collections.

There are plenty of beds and umbrellas on it. Its waters become deep quite quickly, making it ideal for those of us who hate wading for miles before a swim! There is also a bar selling drinks and snacks. Because the caiques do not stop at Xilokeriza, it is often less crowded than some of the other beaches. You can, however, take the bus from the town beach.

Agios Arnargyros Beach

The Saints Anargyroi is the largest and most popular beaches on Spetses. Located on the southwest coast of the island and is 12 km from the port of Dapia.

The shore is covered with sand and pebbles, offering a sandy bottom with clear deep water and all this in a wooded bay on the trees touch the sea! The beach is organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds, beach bar for refreshing cocktails and restaurant for those wishing to dine! It also has all the facilities for water sports and activities. On the beach there is the cave of Bekiris one of the attractions of the island to be seen by the visitor.

Agia Marina Beach 

Agia Marina or Paradise Beach as last call, is perhaps the most popular and one of the most beautiful beaches on Spetses.

Located in the southeastern part of Spetson approximately 2.5 km from Ntapia. The name derives from the chapel located at one end of the beach and surrounded by pine and cypresses, at which point they have also found traces and objects (vessels, statues, etc.) ancient settlement. This is primarily sandy beach, near the coast mixed with pebbles, while the sea is crystal clear and usually calm. There is a beach bar for refreshing cocktails and restaurants for those wishing to dine! It also has all the facilities for water sports and activities.

Scholes Beach/Kaiki Beach

Scholes or Kaiki beach is a large beach that has taken its name “Scholes” by the Anargyrios College found above it (a tourism public school and the alternative name “Kaiki” by the beach bar found on it. It is located on the northeastern coast, close to the settlement of Spetses at 15-20min walking distance. It is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds and water sports facilities and its coast is sandy and pebbled, surrounded by a beautiful natural scenery with a nice view to the opposite coastline of Peloponnese. On the spot there is the beach bar “Kaiki” and close by some taverns and rooms to let.

Bekiris Cave 

Dubbed the “cave of film-makers and lovers”, the cave of Bekiris offers a fascinating interior. In addition to its blue-green water and small sandy beach, the stalactites and stalagmites inside form strange beautiful shapes, setting a romantic atmosphere that any couple would surely appreciate.
